Dropping a voice memo from my dad's cassette — the one from the '88 trip back to Galicia. He talks about the fishing boats. First time I've heard his voice that clear in ten years. Clip uploaded to the vault under "Voice Archive."

Found three more photos in a shoebox of tia Rosa. Scanned them this morning. They're in the timeline under 1970s. The one of her on the porch with the guitar — that's the one Anthony used to talk about.

Updated the tamale recipe with grandma's edits. She told me I had the masa ratio wrong and then laughed at me for ten minutes. It's now in the recipe bank with both versions — the "traditional" one and the "grandma's actual method" one.

New thread started: "Why we never talk about uncle Frank's first marriage." Figured it was time. Everyone who remembers — drop what you know. No judgment, just the record.

Grandma's Tamales

Galician Caldo
Potato, turnip greens, white beans, chorizo. Manuel's mother made this in Galicia; it survived the migration with only one change (paprika instead of pimentón).

Tres Leches Cake
Sponge soaked in three milks. The Vázquez version uses goat milk in one of the three — a tweak from Tia Rosa, who swore it made the cake "stand up better."

"Always heard it was about work. My tio Paco says it was really about the fallout with his brother over the bakery. Anyone else have the real story?"
Grandma's Real Maiden Name

"The church record says Fernández but every document after 1952 says Vázquez. Found the marriage certificate — it's neither. We need to talk about this."
Who Has The Original Tamale Recipe Card?

"The one in grandma's handwriting. Last seen Thanksgiving 2019 at Tia Carmen's house. Mark has a photo but we want the actual card. Rewards offered."
